1.1 Dyspepsia and gastro-oesophageal reflux disease

General guidance
 

  • Antacids can often relieve symptoms in ulcer dyspepsia and GORD. They are also used in non-ulcer dyspepsia but the evidence of benefit is less certain.
  • Antacids are best given when symptoms occur or are anticipated, usually between meals and at bedtime.
